"I know I'm beautiful but it wasn't always that way. I was born in New York City and I had eleven brothers and sisters. When we were born our mom didn't have a home and a family to lover her. We lived with mom in a huge box in an empty building. Mom would go out at night and search for food.
One night while mom was out, a big van stopped and tried to catch mom with a net. Mom ran to our box and the big man followed her and put us all in the van. There we were, in a shelter for homeless pets. A warm place with food!
When we got bigger, families would come in to adopt a pet. My brothers and sisters all got to go to good homes and Mom got a home too. I wasn't like the rest and no one wanted me. I was very sad and lonely until this special day when a lady and her daughter came in. They both loved me a lot and adopted me for their own. I had a family, Winnie & Wally Waggles and their daugher Wiggle.
I had a home and a loving family! They named me Lady Waga. I was different as you can see but I was well taken care of. My sister Wiggle loved to dance and so do I, and now you know my story...
My best friend, Shelby, was a rescued dog. She is an artist and paints beautiful flowers. Paw prints they call them. I was a little sad because I couldn't paint with my paws. Shelby Dog has a book out about her and she has a book teaching kids to paint with their "own paws" or with a pet!
What can I do? We are all special in some way. Winnie, my mom, and Wiggle, wanted me to sing and dance so that is what I do. I'm an artist too now!
Shelby Dog and I have a special thing we do. It is called "Paws to Help Pets" and a portion of the books, posters and Paw prints, go to help pets. We are going to help shelters that help homless pets. We want them to find families. We hope you will help us. Check out my video on YouTube, and see our Facebook link at the bottom of the page.
When you donate, or purchase, you get a special Paws to Help Pets bracelet - for FREE! You can also get your very own Lady Waga poster, suitable for framing.
